Who this care may be right for

Women in perimenopause or menopause, women managing PCOS, and anyone with cycle, PMS, hormone or thyroid concerns may benefit from an evaluation. Symptoms in these areas overlap a great deal, so a careful history and appropriate labs help sort out what is driving them.

This care works alongside your gynecologist or primary care clinician, not instead of them.

Common symptoms and goals

Common concerns include hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disruption, mood changes, irregular cycles, heavy or painful periods, PMS, low energy, weight changes, low libido and PCOS-related symptoms such as acne or unwanted hair growth.

Goals often include understanding the changes happening in your body, finding symptom relief that fits your situation, and protecting long-term bone, heart and metabolic health.

How telehealth care works for women's health

After a discovery call, you complete a detailed intake covering your cycle, symptoms, history and goals. Dr. Miklos Major II, Sc.D., DNP, NP-BC, FAAMFM reviews prior testing and orders labs when appropriate, then discusses findings and options in a dedicated visit.

A written care roadmap outlines prioritized next steps, with follow-up visits and coaching for ongoing support.

Labs that may be used

Testing may include estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, cortisol, thyroid markers with antibodies, and metabolic and cardiovascular baseline panels as appropriate.

Labs are completed near you or with home kits where available, depending on your state and the tests ordered.

Treatment options that may be considered

Options depend on your situation and may include hormone therapy for menopause symptoms, non-hormonal options, cycle and PMS support, thyroid management, nutrition and lifestyle planning, and metabolic support for PCOS.

Hormone therapy options and risks are explained in neutral, balanced terms consistent with ACOG and Menopause Society guidance. The right choice depends on your health history, age, timing and preferences.

Safety, risks and ongoing monitoring

Hormone therapy has benefits and risks that vary by person, and those are reviewed before any treatment. Monitoring includes follow-up visits, symptom review and appropriate labs.

Telehealth is not for emergencies. If you have severe pelvic pain, heavy bleeding with dizziness, chest pain or another emergency, call 911 or seek care immediately.

Cost of women's health care

Care is provided through our programs and memberships. See the Pricing page for details. Medications, compounded medications and outside lab fees are billed separately.

The practice is fee-for-service and does not bill insurance, Medicare or Medicaid. HSA and FSA cards are accepted, and superbills are available on request.

Women's Health: Perimenopause, Menopause and PCOS FAQ

What is perimenopause?

Perimenopause is the transition before menopause when hormone levels fluctuate and cycles become irregular. It can last several years and often brings symptoms like hot flashes, sleep changes and mood shifts.

What is menopause?

Menopause is the point 12 months after a woman's final menstrual period. Symptoms may continue for years, and long-term bone, heart and metabolic health deserve attention.

What is PCOS?

Polycystic ovary syndrome is a common hormonal condition affecting cycles, ovulation and metabolic health. It can involve irregular periods, acne, unwanted hair growth and insulin resistance.

What symptoms might prompt a hormone discussion?

Hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disruption, mood changes, irregular cycles, PMS, low libido and energy changes are common reasons. These symptoms have many possible causes, so evaluation matters.

How is hormone health evaluated in women?

Evaluation combines a detailed history and symptom review with appropriate labs, including estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, thyroid markers and metabolic panels as appropriate.

What labs are used?

Testing may include reproductive hormones, thyroid markers with antibodies, DHEA, cortisol, and metabolic and cardiovascular baseline panels, chosen based on your symptoms and history.

What are the options for menopause symptoms?

Options include hormone therapy and non-hormonal approaches, along with lifestyle support for sleep, nutrition, activity and stress. The right choice depends on your history, timing and preferences.

Are hormone therapy risks the same for everyone?

No. Risks vary by age, timing, type of hormone, dose and personal health history. ACOG and Menopause Society guidance is used to weigh benefits and risks individually.

Can PCOS be managed through telehealth?

Yes. PCOS care involves history, labs, metabolic support, nutrition and lifestyle planning, all of which work well by video visit, with in-person care from your other clinicians as needed.

What about thyroid concerns in women?

Thyroid conditions are common in women and can mimic or overlap with hormone symptoms. Thyroid markers with antibodies are part of many evaluations.

How is treatment monitored?

Monitoring includes follow-up visits, symptom review and repeat labs as appropriate. Plans are adjusted based on your response and clinical judgment.

Does insurance cover this care?

Vitality Medicine RX is fee-for-service and does not bill insurance, Medicare or Medicaid. HSA and FSA cards are accepted, and superbills are available on request.
