What kind of testing might be discussed?
Testing may include metabolic and blood count panels, hormone and thyroid panels, advanced lipids, inflammation markers, micronutrients and, when clinically appropriate, more specialized testing. Testing is selective, not everything available.
Common panels
Complete metabolic and blood count panels, comprehensive hormone panels, thyroid panels with antibodies, advanced lipids and inflammation markers such as hs-CRP are common starting points.
Specialty testing
Micronutrients, organic acids, stool and microbiome testing, food sensitivity testing, genetic and methylation testing, and mycotoxin or heavy metal screening may be considered when clinically appropriate. Some specialty tests have limited evidence for certain uses, and that is part of the conversation.
